Sofia Vergara

Sofia Margarita Vergara Vergara grew up in Barranquilla. Margarita Davila De Vergara is her mother. Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo provides cattle for meat processing industries. There are five brothers and sisters. The school she attended was an English/Spanish bilingual private high school. Then she studied pre-dental. Sofia was found by a cameraman at the beach. After that, she began to work in modeling and television. At age 23, she became a runway model. She co-hosted the travel show Fuera de serie (1996) in 1995 through 1998. It brought her fame to the American public. Her first film role was in the crime comedy Big Trouble (2002). Her breakout role was Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on the American TV show Modern Family (2009). In the period 2010-2013, she won 4 Emmy nominations in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for this role.
